There were straight set victories for all the competitors on day two of the Barbados Road Tennis Open 2024 at the “Deighton Pa Roach” facility in Bush Hall St Michael on Saturday night.
In the first game Hakeem Ellis comfortably defeated Anthony Harris 21-11, 21-16, inside of 18 minutes.
In the night’s second encounter Azarie Clarke, hardly broke a sweat, as he dismissed Fabian Batson 21-9, 21-7, to advance to the next round of the tournament.
The third game of the night saw Sylvanus Doyle cruising through against Christian Leslie 21-14, 21-14.
The fourth game was easily the most exciting as Aaron Barker took on Julian Collymore.
Barker prevailed 21-15, 21-15 in both games to secure an entertaining match-up.
The night-cap game saw Jayden Mayers easily defeating Alexander “Fyah” Clarke 21-14, 21-9, to cap just over two and a half hours of exciting tennis, before a sizeable and appreciative crowd.
Three of the match-ups on the eight game card were decided by defaults, with Keon Murrell winning by default over Aaron Hippolyte.
Dwight Thornhill also won by default over C Griffith and Corey Mayers won by default against Clinton Duncan.
The BRTO Open 2024, continues on Sunday, with eight games carded for Diamond Corner, St Peter, starting at 6.30pm.
